Sioma River Camp is located 12 km. south of the Sioma (Ngonye) Falls midway between Sesheke and Senanga in Western Province - 315 km. from Livingstone (Victoria Falls) and 113 km. from Katimo Mulilo, the borderpost between Zambia and Namibia. From Livingstone the drive will take 4-5 hours (the road to Sesheke – first 200 km. - is tarred, but the last 115 km. from the border the road is gravel/sand).
Sioma Camps are accessible by road all year round (in a 4x4 with good ground clearance). There is an airstrip a few km. away from Sioma River Camp, so transfer by air from Livingstone – or elsewhere in Zambia - is an option.
Access to Sioma Ngwezi National Park is difficult. A track goes from Sioma in the northwest corner of the park to Sinjembela in the southwest corner, continues downstream along the Kwando River (border with Angola) to Imusho in the southeast corner (bordering Namibia), from where the sandy road will take you back to the main Sesheke-Senanga road. There used to be a road through the park, but due to fallen logs (these elephants can be so annoying!) the road has been inaccessible for several years.
