Livingstone & Surrounds
Livingstone is a historic colonial city and present capital of the Southern Province of Zambia, a tourism centre for Victoria Falls (Mosi-oa-Tunya) lying 10 km north of the Zambezi River, and a border town with road and rail connections to Zimbabwe on the other side of the Falls.

The mighty Victoria Falls is one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World and it is popularly known by the locals as Mosi-O-Tunya or the smoke that thunders. This is natures most spectacular curtain of water and Zambias best known and alluring attraction and is shared with Zimbabwe. The falls are simply magical and magnificent as the waters of the Zambezi pour into the huge gulf below. Clouds of vapor against the backdrop of hues of blue and green can be seen for miles around.

Apart from the famous Victoria Falls, Livingstone has many places of interest and among these are; the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, Batoka Gorges, the mighty Zambezi River, the Victoria Falls Field Museum, and the Livingstone Museum which contains a magnificent collection of memorabilia relating to David Livingstone. In 2005 a statues of him and Emil Holub were erected in front of the museum.
