Tour Details
Day 1 Guests will arrive at Ndole Bay late morning. They will then check in, have lunch and take some rest.
Nestled amongst lush tropical vegetation opening onto its own exclusive beach, Ndole Bay Lodge offers visitors a singular African experience on the shores of a unique lake. Ndole Bay offers a choice of accommodation to suit various guests with different budgets. All rooms are subtly situated within the riparian vegetation offering guest the remarkable comfort. Activities offered at the lodge include scuba diving, snorkeling and fishing among others.
In the evening the guests will be treated to a sunset dhow cruise accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide. The cruise centers on watching local fishermen as they prepare to go out for the nights fishing activities. After the cruise a sumptuous dinner will be served around the camp fire on the beach. |
Day 2 In the morning a short lesson for introductory dive (no experience necessary) or snorkel experience at local dive sites. Guests and their guide will then leave for the beach.
In the afternoon a short walk in Nsumbu National Park will be undertaken. Tourists will be visit picturesque Muzinga waterfalls, game viewing, sunset cruise and then back to the lodge. |
Day 3 Morning activities will start with fishing or sightseeing in the Nsumbu National Park. Nsumbu National Park is renowned for its superb scenery and abundant birdlife. The afternoon will take off with kayaking across Cameron bay for the guided of Cichlid fish catch and export station. Rare fish from all over Tanganyika will be on display. |
Day 4 Dubbed as the "Big Day Out", guests will leave Ndole Bay Lodge mid morning and travel into Nsumbu National Park to visit the balancing boulders of the Twaba tribe. Completely shrouded in the local tradition and myth guests will learn about the annual ceremony carried out by local chiefs and medicine men.
After acquiring all the knowledge on local tradition and norms, guests will then enjoy a swim in the deep waters of the Lake Tanganyika followed by lunch on a secluded beach deep within the National Park. Marula trees provide the needed shade for the guests. |
Day 5 | Guests wake up to a wonderful breakfast while enjoying the wonderful views that surround the lodge and due to the distance involved in getting here almost all departures are some time in the morning. |

Transport: BY LAND
Guests can do a self drive to Ndole Bay Lodge via, Kasama or Mansa, self drive to Mpulungu then boat transfer or get on a bus to Mpulungu then boat transfer to the lodge.

There are two options namely charter flights to Kasaba Bay Airstrip and a local airline Proflight offers scheduled flights to Kasama then road to Mpulungu then high speed catamaran (arrive Ndole Bay Lodge at1500hrs)
BY WATER FROM MPULUNGU
Once you get to Mpulungu there is a high speed twin engine catamaran that will transfer you to the lodge. The transfer takes 2 hours.

Directions from start point: Ndole Bay Lodge is situated on the South Western shore of Lake Tanganyika in far Northern Zambia near the small town of Nsumbu and Kasaba Bay airstrip. Lying just outside Nsumbu National Park there is direct access to the road from either Mporokoso or Kaputa directly to Nsumbu township. High clearance vehicles are essential and 4x4 recommended in the wet season (Dec – April). From Mpulungu and Kasaba Bay, Ndole Bay is accessible by boat.
